This journey is for those who want to see as much as possible and leave full of vivid impressions from their trip to Baikal. We will start with making an acquaintance with the capital of East Siberia – the city of Irkutsk; then we’ll set off on a hike along part of the Round-Baikal Railway built by Russian and Italian engineers over 100 years ago. One of the most memorable moments will be a hike along the Great Baikal Trail from Listvyanka to Bolshoe Goloustnoye village along the amazing trail and an excursion to Cape Skriper..
Not exhausting: Overnight stays with host families and in guesthouses. No need to carry tents, sleeping bags and groceries. Hiking maximum 20 km per day. 3 rest days with day trips to the villages.
Changeable: Excursions in Irkutsk and Listvyanka. Combined hike and train ride on the old Baikal Railway.

Today we will walk on down the line and a train, that has been given the name Motanya by locals, will pick us up at one of the stations. It will take us along the remainder of the track to Port Baikal where we will spend the night in the station hotel.
In the morning we will visit the Baikal Museum with its interesting expositions including some living inhabitants of the lake.

On the hike along the shoreline you can enjoy the beauty of Lake Baikal, enjoy the unspoiled nature and learn many new and interesting things from your knowledgeable guide.
The settlement of Bolshoe Goloustnoe is named after the Goloustnoe River, which flows into Lake Baikal at this point. The area around the river delta is exceptionally peaceful, making this tour ideal for travelers who are tired of hectic city life.
We take a short excursion to the village. At the place where the Church of St. Nicholas stands, we have a picturesque view of the village, the river delta and, of course, Lake Baikal.
We can offer the ascent to the Holy Mountain, which will take about 3 hours. From this mountain, the entire river delta and the settlement are clearly visible. The climb will take some effort. But you will be more than compensated by the magnificent view from the summit. If you still haven't had enough, you can visit the dry lake with us, which only fills with water every few years.
The group returns to Irkutsk. The evening in Irkutsk will be free from planned activities.
